LECTORS (READERS)
Lectors are responsible for reading the Old and New Testament readings during the services. They range from children in upper elementary school to our oldest member. To participate, one needs a clear voice, the willingness to practice beforehand, and above all, the desire to share the good news as it is proclaimed in Scripture.
If you are interested in this ministry, contact the Rector.

One of the responsibilities I have taken on, as per our Episcopal Baptismal Covenant and my own Confirmation of those vows when I was a teen, is to “proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ.” I don’t stand on a soapbox on a street corner to do that proclaiming or pounce on unsuspecting guests at a cocktail party, but I do stand at the lectern of our church on many Sunday mornings and read aloud a Lesson or Psalm for the congregation. I am a Lector. I have a big voice. I know that everyone hears me, even those folks sitting in the back rows or high in the balcony. Proclaim I do! To all. Often." - Donna Austin, Lector
